These terms govern your use of theplot.land (“PLOT”, “the site”, “we”, “us”). By claiming a plot or using the site, you agree to them. Please read them — they are written plainly on purpose.
PLOT is a digital collectible. When you claim a plot, you are buying a permanent entry in a private registry: one numbered square on a finite 240-plot map, recorded with a name and optional link you provide, and a deed page that displays it.
A plot is not real-world land or property. It is not an NFT, a token, a security, or a blockchain asset. It grants no ownership, legal, financial, voting, or property rights of any kind outside this website. It is not an investment and is not offered or sold as one. No financial return is promised or implied.
“Permanent” means two specific things: the total supply is fixed at 240 plots and will never increase, and once you claim a plot it will not be resold, re-auctioned, transferred, or reassigned to anyone else by us. There is deliberately no mechanism to outbid or buy out an existing holder.
PLOT is operated by a single individual and a plot is a record in this registry, held on ordinary web infrastructure. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the site and registry running, but we do not and cannot guarantee that the site, the registry, or your deed page will remain available indefinitely. If the site ceases to operate, deed pages and registry records may become unavailable. Claim a plot because you value being an early, permanent entry in a small finite registry — not as an investment or store of value, and please do not spend more than that is worth to you.
Plots are sold for a single one-time price shown at the point of claim. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
Your plot is recorded to you the moment your payment clears. The name and optional link you submit appear on the public registry after a brief review (see section 5).
Because a plot is a one-time digital good that is delivered and recorded immediately on payment, claims are generally final and non-refundable. If something goes wrong — for example, your payment is taken but no plot is recorded — contact us and we will make it right, including issuing a refund where appropriate. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
You choose the name (label) and optional link shown on your deed. You are responsible for what you submit, and by submitting it you confirm you have the right to use it. Submitted labels and links are reviewed before they appear publicly.
We may decline to publish, or may remove, any label or link that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, hateful, obscene, harassing, impersonating, or otherwise inappropriate — at our reasonable discretion. If we remove content you submitted and cannot offer you a suitable alternative, we may void the plot and refund you.
Plots cannot be resold, transferred, or assigned. There is no secondary market, by design. Any attempt to sell or transfer a plot has no effect on the registry.
The first 100 plots claimed each receive a Founder number (#001–#100), issued once and never reissued. A Founder mark is a matter of record and provenance only; it confers no additional rights or benefits beyond the permanent mark itself.
Don’t attempt to disrupt, attack, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems, and don’t use PLOT for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend access or void plots used in breach of these terms.
The site and your plot are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to PLOT is limited to the amount you paid for your plot.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
